Our story began long before either of us realized what God was writing. We had always known of each other through church and fellowship life. We were both part of the same church community and also members of the same campus fellowship, GLCO.
At the time, I was already serving as the pastor of the campus fellowship before Sarah entered university, so we were never really in the same circle or season of life. Still, our paths quietly crossed through family, church, and mutual connections. I knew her family, her sisters, and the community they shared.
We were never strangers, but we were not yet in each other’s story.
Years later, life brought both of us to Lagos.
I had moved to Lagos and was staying with my sister in the same neighbourhood where Dome lived. That proximity became the beginning of real conversations and friendship. What started as casual visits, gist sessions, and simple conversations slowly became something deeper.
Most of our connection happened online, especially through Instagram. Even when life became busy, we always seemed to reconnect from time to time. Since we were both in tech, many of our conversations revolved around career growth, learning, spirituality and life. I would often reach out about my Master’s work in Data Analytics, and Dome would offer guidance, advice, and encouragement.
The funny thing was, even back then, there was already intention in his heart. But timing wasn’t right, so the feelings remained unspoken.
Still, through the years, the connection never completely disappeared.
Then came 2025.
What had once been occasional conversations became something undeniable. In what we both believe was a divine reconnection, God brought us back into each other’s lives at the right time.
This time, things were different.
I had clarity, conviction, and peace about pursuing Sarah intentionally. Guided by faith and led by the Holy Spirit, I decided not to hold back anymore. What began as renewed conversations slowly turned into intentional pursuit.
Sarah, wise and careful, encouraged patience and taking things one step at a time. But as time went on, her heart opened too, and what started as friendship blossomed into love.
After years of knowing each other from a distance, our story finally began.
As our relationship grew, one thing became increasingly clear: we had found our person.
By the end of 2025, we had already begun speaking seriously about marriage.
Then came February.
After years of friendship, seasons, conversations, timing, and grace, Dome asked the question that changed everything.
I said yes.
And now, with grateful hearts and unwavering faith, we begin this new chapter together, hand in hand, on our journey to forever.
